Public procurement as an innovation driver
The research project ‘Public procurement as an innovation driver’ is aimed at developing the potential and addressing the need for action to a more innovative approach for public procurement in Germany. Wegweiser GmbH Berlin Research & Strategy together with Technical University of Berlin and Orrick, Hölters & Elsing addresses the opportunities and potential for greater innovation in Germany’s public procurement sector. This refers to the purchase of innovative products by the public sector as well as to the consistent use of innovative procurement processes. The report can be downloaded free of cost.

Accompanying research for the pilot project
"Electronic contracts allocation for national procurement (e-procurement)"
Together with the Fraunhofer IAO, Wegweiser was responsible for accompanying the pilot project in 2002 to realize digital communication between businesses and government for the electronic contract allocation for German public sector procurement. The research involved considering the actual existing technological and organizational solutions at the time and using the context for developing solutions. It also included evaluating the economic and competitive effects, acceptance factors and possible adoption barriers as well as creating an e-procurement guide for interested companies.
